A car audio store owner in Downey, California, shot three attempted robbers this past Monday night on June 12. ABC 7 in Los Angeles published a story about the incident on their site.
Per ABC 7, the incident occurred at First Class Car Audio. A caller reported the shooting at around 8:15pm local time on Monday night. The caller stated that something had happened in the 8800 block of Rosecrans Ave.
Upon arriving, the Downey Police Department discovered two deceased suspects inside First Class Car Audio. Per investigators, a third suspect had driven himself to a hospital. By early Tuesday, detectives were interviewing the third suspect.
Regarding the shooting, one individual who didn’t wish to be identified said, “All I heard was gunshots — about nine or 10 gunshots.”
Another individual, also unidentified, had an idea of why the incident happened. “That’s the store owner trying to protect his business,” the other individual stated. “He got a family and, you know, people trying to take away his business where he worked hard for it. That’s not right.”
Police said that the owner wasn’t harmed in the shooting. They did not identify the two deceased suspects.
Downey Police also closed a section of Rosecrans Ave. early Tuesday morning. Police stated that they had found multiple firearms at the scene.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police Detective Carlos Bejines at (562) 904-2334.
