A Global Credit Union security guard shot and killed an armed robbery suspect in Idaho on Saturday, August 11. KXLY published a story about the incident on their website, KXLY.com.
The Global Credit Union where the incident occurred is located on East Neider Ave. in Coeur D’Alene in Idaho. Coeur D’Alene is the largest city located in Idaho’s northern panhandle. Also called the Lake City, Coeur D’Alene rests next to the lake from where its name comes.
On August 11, the suspect, wearing a motorcycle helmet to hide his identity, entered the Global Credit Union in Coeur D’Alene. As soon as the suspect produced a gun, the security guard fired multiple rounds at the suspect.
Upon arriving, police discovered the unnamed suspect. Idaho State Troopers and deputies from Kootenai County Sherriff’s Office were unsuccessful at preventing the suspect from dying. There were no other reported injuries. Per authorities, the bank was empty when the armed robbery suspect entered.
CDA Police, working with the FBI, continue to collect evidence and interview witnesses.
