A homeowner in Charles County, Maryland, fended off two attempted burglars this past Tuesday on Dec. 26. BayNet.com published a story on their site about the incident.
The home invasion happened at around 7:41 on Dec. 26 at a residence located in the 2700 block of Marshall Hall Road on Bryans Road. The homeowner, who called police, stated that two armed suspects kicked open his front door.
The suspects demanded money. A male occupant in the house heard the commotion. The male occupant grabbed his firearm. At first, he retreated to a nearby room to hide. The suspects entered the room.
The invaders pointed a gun at the hiding victim. The victim raised his firearm and shot at the suspects. Both suspects fled. Police discovered both suspects nearby. One of the suspects had been shot in the neck. Emergency services transported the shot suspect to a hospital. His wound has been described as non-life threatening.
Both the shot attempted robber and his 17-year-old accomplice have been charged with burglary, and attempted robbery. Related charges have been added.
Investigators have already determined that the suspects targeted the house. The incident was no random burglary attempt. Detective B. Long is the lead investigator.
