A homeowner shot and killed the manager of a popular restaurant in Lawrence, Kansas this past Wednesday on April 4. KSHB Channel 41 in Kansas City published a story about the incident.
The incident happened at about 1:30 am on April 4. It occurred in the 1100 block of Connecticut Street. The suspect, identified as 32-year-old Trevor Mohawk, allegedly walked up to the residence.
Mohawk knocked on the door. By knocking on the door, Mohawk woke up the couple that lives at the house. The 44-year-old man that lives at the house went to the front door.
Per Lawrence Police Department Officer Drew Fennelly, after opening the front door, Mohawk and the homeowner got into a confrontation that quickly escalated. “The homeowner armed himself with a firearm and made contact with Mr. Mohawk in front of the residence. At some point it did escalate into a physical confrontation,” Officer Fennelly said.
During the confrontation, shots were fired.
A neighbor, Jenny King, described what she heard. “I heard three shots and I thought it was the trash man, but it wasn’t and then I heard sirens.”
Emergency services transported Mohawk to a local hospital where he died. Mohawk worked at Jefferson’s, a popular restaurant in Lawrence, KS. Police haven’t stated if the homeowner will be charged in the shooting death of Mohawk.
Lawrence Police did say that they’re still investigating.
