An off duty police officer in an Atlanta, Georgia, suburb fatally shot and killed a suspect after the suspect shot at a group of men outside of a restaurant. Fox News published a story about the incident on their site.
The incident occurred in the afternoon outside of a restaurant in Forest Park on Sunday, May 13. Per Sgt. Ashanti Marbury, the incident started inside the restaurant after the suspect had made inappropriate comments towards a woman. While making the comments there had been other men around.
Outside of the restaurant, while the other men were leaving, the suspect followed and then fired. The off duty police officer had been working security across the street at a church. Sgt. Marbury said that the security job had been approved.
The off duty officer went across the street to confront the suspect about firing towards the group of men. The suspect then fired towards the off duty officer, which missed. The officer returned fire. The suspect died while in route to a hospital.
Sgt. Marbury said that no one was harmed after the suspect’s initial shot.
