A resident shot an armed intruder in Waco, Texas last Friday on May 18. KWTX Channel 10 published a story about the incident on their site.
The incident happened at around 12:15 am last Friday morning. It was around that time that officers responded to calls about a shooting. The shooting happened at the Enclave at the Stadium Apartments. The apartments are located in the 1600 block of South Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
Residents at an apartment at the Enclave heard a knock on their door shortly before midnight on May 18. Waco Police said that because they weren’t sure who the person knocking was, one of the residents grabbed his firearm.
A minute or two later, a second suspect came to the door. One of the suspects forced his way into the apartment. The suspect was armed. The resident with the firearm sat on the couch.
Waco Police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said, “The suspect swung the pistol at the resident several times before the now armed resident on the couch opened fire, striking the suspect twice.”
Sgt. Swanton said nothing about the condition of the shot suspect. He did say that police questioned the resident before releasing him.
Not other details regarding the incident have so far been released.
