A shootout at a trailer park in Utah this past Monday on September 25 led to the death of the suspect. At least, that’s the assumption of police that investigated the incident. KUTV CBS Channel 2 in Salt Lake City, Utah, posted a story about the shootout.
Rich County deputies originally responded to a call of a suicidal man shooting into trailer homes. Upon arriving, police found the man had crashed his vehicle into the side of a trailer home. The trailer home is located near Garden City, Utah, southwest of Bear Lake.
Upon further investigation, police discovered that the man had started shooting into the trailer home. The trailer home residents returned gunfire. Police believe that during the shootout the suspect had been hit by return fire. Both residents, an elderly couple, suffered gunshot wounds.
The preliminary investigation points to the elderly couple returning gunfire in self-defense. Rich County deputies are determining why the deceased suspect had targeted the elderly couple.
Several agencies have been called to assist the local authorities.
