A woman shot her ex-boyfriend at a Motel 6 on the North East side of San Antonio, Texas in the morning hours of Monday, April 23. KSAT ABC 12 in San Antonio published a story about the shooting on their website.
The woman, 33-years-old, called 911 shortly before 4:30 am to say that she had shot her ex-boyfriend after he had physically assaulted her with a knife. The woman was staying at a Motel 6 located near Interstate 35 and Thousand Oaks.
After arriving, police officers discovered that the suspected assailant had fled the scene. Shortly, a second 911 call came directing the officers to a 7-11 convenience store located near I-35 and O’Conner Road. Police discovered the shot suspect in the backseat of a sports utility vehicle.
The suspect suffered from two gunshot wounds to his upper body. Emergency Services transported the wounded suspect to a nearby hospital. Police detained and questioned the woman who had driven the shot suspect to the 7-11.
At the Motel 6, investigators questioned the woman who had shot the suspect. She stated that her ex-boyfriend, whom had recently been released from prison, went to see her at the Motel 6. She assumed he had left, but while going to the motel’s laundry room, he had accosted her while brandishing a knife.
The ex-boyfriend attempted to sexually assault her. That’s when she shot him.
Police declined to say whether the victim’s self-defense claim will hold up. No word yet on the condition of the shot suspect.
